Marrickville Baptist Church has existed for years, Silver Street Mission is still just learning to walk. We need all the help we can get. We don't want to throw people into jobs and hope for the best. Too many become worn out and even burnt out like that. Money is good, but Prayer and Presence are far more valuable. We want a two way relationship so that everyone gets to grow. Silver Street Mission is committed to the poor and the marginalised. We aim to see people made whole through the saving power of Jesus Christ and the inner working of the Holy Spirit. We are evangelical, open to Charismatic emphases, and welcoming to a wide variety of believers. The vital question is, "Is the Lord calling you to help here? HELP with copying support form (below):  1. You can print out the whole page and cut off the pieces you don't want to send to us. Some browsers are funny about the page sizes they'll support, so you may have to fiddle to make this work well. 2. Open Notepad or another text editor and Paste the text in before printing the form out.	We need musicians with a commitment to ministering through music.  Our style is eclectic -- contemporary + traditional. Afro-American gospel rubs shoulders with Baroque. We have a Clavinova and a rhythm guitarist. Rudimentary drums and a bass available.    We need a congregation.  People attract people. Can you commit yourself to 3 months with us? If you can sing, do one-to-one evangelism, have beach mission or similar experience, that's a bonus!    We need speakers of languages other than English  Tagalog, Vietnamese, Pacific island languages, Arabic, Greek etc. -- they are all in Marrickville. Can you work with NESB communities?    We need people who can relate to those with physical/developmental disabilities or mental health issues, either giving friendship or developing art.craft/music/ light exercise programs.    We need intercessors  to pray with us and for us -- Friday nights, Sunday mornings, whenever.  SORRY! We can't supply accommodation or pay a stipend. (The pastor doesn't receive a stipend either.) We can help with occasonal meals and places to take a break. We can help with some out-of-pocket expenses for direct ministry. We'd love to offer more, but... Our resources are limited, but our God is great.
